Hey guys! Most of you attended our very first STN Practice. Overall I think it was a very very great success for only our first STN Practice. We may have had a few flaws here and there but it was still great. I was on the Spot Feature Team. We had 2 hours to find a character and interview them with b-roll and voice overs and 3 hours to edit the 1 1/2 minute video. Kaden and Kolten were on my team. I thought we were a great team but I'm sure that there were many things that our video could have improved upon.
Me, Kolten, and Kaden made a very great team. I really believed that we had many things to contribute to the team and the video. Me and Kaden were on the Spot Feature team last year so that means we have some experience with this competition. We now have to teach Kolten about the competition and get him ready to lead next years Spot Feature Team. I really believe that Kolten will be able to lead next years team with no problem as long as he continues to learn. We all have many things to contribute to the team, wether it's advice, extra equipment, or just helping out. Everyone has a role in the team.
The topic for our first STN Practice was "Do Over". If you could go back in time and redo anything, what would you change. We interviewed Jezlene and she a had a very interesting story about bullying. We had 2 hours to film interviews and b-roll and 3 hours to edit the video. The part that I felt we could have improved most upon would be our b-roll. It had nice lighting and was in focus but it didn't really match what she was talking about in her interview. Making the b-roll match is one of the things we could improve next time.
Overall, I think our first practice went really well! There are many things that we could improve but I'm feeling really confident in my team. We all have lots of things to contribute and we work really well together. We do our best not to fool around and we get work done effeciently. Usually we finish our rough cut of our video in 2 hours and then we add some final touches. But it's also good to have a rough video already exported an hour from the deadline just in case our final video has some problems exporting. It's never happened before to me but it's always good to play it safe.
Well I can't wait for our next practice. I'm very confident that everyone will all make improvments wether it's just working more as a team or improving their shots. We all aren't perfect and we all need to practice to become better. We can't be perfect, but it's certainly something to strive for. I really believe that me, Kolten, and Kaden did a great job for our first practice and we are ready to make it even better. So until next time, bye!
