In this bog, I will be writing about another cool short film that I saw on Youtube. The film is called Proximity. The film is about a group of hostages who are sent to a large open field. Each of the hostages has an ankle bracelet that is wirelessly connected to another one of the bracelets on another hostage. If the bracelets get too far away from each other, the bracelets will turn red and explode causing their foot to come off. The bad people will then go after those people and finish them off with their rifles. The thing that I loved about this short film is the cinematography. Cinematography is just a fancy word for the composition of your shots. In the opening scene, there was a lot of back lit shots. An what that means is that the actors backs are faced to the sun which makes a silhouette shot. It made it look extra cool when the smoke from the actors cigarette came into the shot and became part of the silhouette. I also loved the handheld shots. Since this was an action movie, it would get kinda boring if the shots were locked down on a tripod during the fight scene. Even though it was a little shaky, which is fine with me, it wasn't jittery. I also loved the wide screen. Anyways, go ahead and check out the video done by Ryan Connolly from Film Riot. The video is kinda intense for younger kids so VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.
