Interviews were supposed to be done a long, long time ago. Luckily me and Jonathan got our interviews done just in time for transcribing and script writing. But getting the interviews weren't easy. We originally had our interviews scheduled for Monday at 3:30. So me and Jonathan went to the interview at 3:30 but no one was there. So we called the people and it turned out that they had to cancel it because they had something to do. But since i didn't leave my phone number, they couldn't call me and inform me. But we reschedule and filmed interviews on Wednesday and it wen't great! We got great audio and the framing was great! We even got some b-roll shots. But after interviews, we came back another day and got a lot of b-roll shots. We even used the Glidecam4000.
After we film interviews, its time to make the script. We originally wanted to have our main character be one of the high school students but after interviews, my mind changed and we decided to make the manager the main character. The reason I decided to make it about the manager is because she had a really wonderful story. The manager used to be a drug user and quit, so now she is helping kids with the same problems. So after we decided who our story was gonna be about we made our script based on that. We had our script revised a couple of times so I know were are close to getting it finalized.
But since we are close to getting our script finalized, we can start editing. By the time I post this blog, I probably would have laid out all my soundbites and voiceovers on my timeline. And have most of my b-roll overlapping the audio. I will also have my lower thirds put in. Since we have our soundbites and voice overs put in, we can see how long our video will be. If its too long then we can see it when we edit the video. And if its short, then we could add more information. This is why, laying down your sound bites as soon as possible is important.
So as most of you can tell, me and Jonathan are on track to finishing our video on time. And of course our main goal is to try and get our video onto Hiki No. Hiki No said that our story has potential to be on their show so that means I gotta keep working on my video. Thats about it, so until next time, bye!
