Hey guys! I can't believe it, but this will be my last blog for the year of 2014!!! I'm so excited for the new year! Here comes 2015!!! But before we can move onto the new year, we gotta finish 2014. That means that we have our second quarter projects that will be due in 2 days. That is the case for most of you, but for me and Micah, the quarter has already finished! We finished our Music Video. We just showed the video last Thursday at the Kauai Beach Resort. It was a huge success. So all I can say that this quarter has been very stressful and very exciting!
For those of you who haven't made a music video, I can tell you strait up that it was a very long and hard process. I don't know how me and Micah did it, but we managed to finish the project in a month! A month!!! We had a very late start to the project because we didn't start filming until the quarter was halfway done. That got me and Micah very nervous. But we managed to pull it off. We filmed almost every single weekend all day long. We drove all over the island! Its like we were on an adventure! Hah!
The editing process was also very hard! We filmed so much stuff and it was very hard to choose and find the best clips for each scene. I also think we filmed a little too much. With all our clips imported, my laptop had only a couple hundred mega bytes left. Thats not even 1 GB. We had trouble managing the footage and making sure we have enough room to add some more footage that we received from another camera person who also filmed some stuff around the island. Sadly, we only managed to use three clips from that person.
So we managed to finish the video on time and reveal it at the KVB Annual Luncheon last Thursday. It was a really big relief when we were in the car on our way to the luncheon knowing that we finally finished. We were done with projects for the year. Me and Micah were very fortunate to have been able to attend the luncheon to witness our video being played. It was really nice to see all of the audiences reaction. We were also told some really great compliments about the video which is really awesome!
So I guess this is goodbye for the rest of the year. This has been a very exciting and nervous semester and in just a couple of weeks, we will be producing PSA's all by our selves. No partner to rely on. So it's good to start thinking about 3rd quarter projects now so that it will give you an advantage next year. So that's about it. So until 2015, see ya later! And have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
