For all of us in the media class, we have a lot of work to get done in class for our projects and sometimes we need some extra time to get our work done after school. Especially for our Inside Scoop radios. In previous years, we would have at least an hour to an hour and a half. But now, we mostly stay after school for only 45 minutes. It may seem like a lot of time, but it's not. And when you have to work Snack Shop, thats 15 minutes less. Time flies very fast at the end of school. Especially with 4th quarter projects, some of us will be filming things after school and with only 45 minutes to film, it's going to be very hard to get the shots looking like you want them to. Atleast its going to keep us from fooling around.
Another reason why I don’t like the new bell schedule is because it also messes up the bus schedule. In previous years, the kids that lived closest to the school would leave on the first round of bus. Now its the other way around. All the kids that live farthest away go home on the first round of busses. Even though it may seem like a fair trade, it's not. The kids that live in Lihue are getting home on the second round of busses. We get home around 3:45. Like Mr.M said, “If you live farther away, then thats your choice to live far away from the school and take the time to travel to school.” It's not fair that the closer kids get home later than the farther kids.
But as always, we tend to get used to the changes in life. It's been awhile since the new schedule started so most of us should already be used to the new time change. Its not the worst change in the world. There were some things that didn’t happen like the study hall on Wednesdays so maybe we will be seeing that next year. But other than some of those issues, I can’t really think of anything else bad. There’s always something good in every change. At least all my electives are fun so thats a good thing.
I really can’t say too much about the bell schedule. It hasn’t affected me too much but there are some things that can be done to improve it. Starting with the bus schedule and then working our way up from that. I heard that the schedule might be changing again next school year so get ready! Other than that, that's about it. Tomorrow, me, Micah, Ben, Kelli, and Nicole are heading to Oahu withe Mr.M and Nicoles dad to the Olelo Awards Luncheon at the Waikiki Resort. So wish us good luck! Until next time, bye!
