So when you first encounter stress during anything, ill try and just block out everything focus on myself. I will become kinda anti social and just take time to relax. The thing that works best for me is to listen to music. Sometimes when you're listening to music, you sometimes find inspiration from your songs and then you can listen to music while you are doing your work. And sometime if you are listening to music while you work, you tend to zone in on your work and forget about everything happening around you. You're not thinking about what time lunch is, if theres thunder and lightning outside. You just zone out of everything. So if your stressed try listening to music.
Another thing I tend to do is look at the brighter side of things. Lets say that you are in the middle of the STN Challenge and there is only 3 days left and you are there working on the script. But then you start stressing out about if you guys are gonna make the deadline and produce a decent video. If that ever happens to me, I don't think about what happening at that time. I start to think about the future. For example, it might only be the 3rd day of the competition but then i'm just day dreaming about the day after the competition ends. When we are all cheering and happy that we turned in the video on time and we did our best work. Thats gives me the motives to finish that video because I wan't to be happy and be cheering at the end of the competition just like how I thought about how it would end. So thinking positive is another great method of dealing with stress (for me).
And if all of my other methods fail, i'll just drop what i'm doing and just take a break and go on my phone and just relax for a couple of minutes. I would rather work my hardest the next day, than struggle for the next 3 hours. Of course i'm not gonna take a 3 hour brake, but just taking a break for a couple of minutes will really help you. It doesn't even have to be going on your phone to help you relax, it could just be eating a popsicle. So breaks are a must when you are dealing with a stressful project.
So thats how I deal with stress. You can't run away from stress, so you gotta learn to deal with it. Sometimes stress isn't just a negative thing. Sometimes it will motivate you to get the project done faster and more efficiently.
