When it comes to a team competition, it is important that everyone has a job on the team. If someone is sitting on the side and doing nothing, then its not gonna help out the team at all. Everyone needs a role. Work can get done a lot more faster and a lot more efficiently if we all work together. Since I have a little more experience than my other team mates. I kinda took on the role as leader and just made sure everyone was doing something productive. If one person is setting up the equipment, the other can start going over some questions with the subject. It certainly helped out our team. I also helped to keep everyone busy working. Nobody should be doing nothing its a team effort. If your team isn't cooperating, you will not have a successful video.
There were many things to improve upon for the next practice. The thing that I noticed in both practices would be our audio. However, I think everyone is facing this problem. When recording audio using the Sennheiser and the audio boxes, there is this distinct hissing sound that comes through. Its not something thats a really big issue. It just sometimes get on your nerves but is still something worth taking a look at and fixing. There is always room for improvement. Another thing that I would work more on would be finding that deep story. There were a few questions that I forgot to ask that could have gotten a deeper story.
Another thing I would kinda need to remember next practice is you keep your cool. Usually when things start getting hard and stressful, you will tend to panic and start to act like you don't know what your doing. And for the Spot Feature competition, you will be talking to complete strangers and you really don't want to be loosing your cool in front of strangers. Especially if they are your subject, you wanna make sure that they feel comfortable. So next practice I will do my best to look like I know what i'm doing even though I have no clue on how to fix the situation. And don't forget to say thank you to your subject.
So thats about it. I tried my best to make sure everyone had a role, everyone was productive, and that everyone kept their cool. If one person starts freaking out, the others start worrying also. Its always a good idea to look back at your previous practice and find some things that you can improve upon for the next practice. Good luck during the next STN Practice and good luck with your projects!
